Sugro Crossings was my imaginary friend when I was a child growing up in Cape Town. She lived in my bedroom mirror and we had a grand old time together. As I grew older, she became all but forgotten. Pursuing a sensible career leaves no time for imagination, but my creative longing kept nudging me for attention. Living only in the mirror at first, it eventually got the attention it deserved when I pursued formal training in jewellery making. Now, dividing my time between South Africa and Belgium, I spend most of my days making jewellery, and Sugro could not be happier.
